What Men Want/What Women Want

What Men Want/What Women Want

Men and women are quite different, which basically means that
(surprise!) they are driven by different things in a mate. Having been
a single woman living in Los Angeles for a while now, and being the
ever-observant creature that I am, I feel that the following is pretty
accurate in regard to what we want from each other:

Vote for Harper's biggest lie

Nakma - the movie

パレスチナ1948 -NAKBA-
The year 2008 marks the 60th anniversary of the foundation of Israel. It marks also the beginning of 60 years of the suffering for the Palestinian people. This tragedy is referred to as the “Nakba,” meaning catastrophe in Arabic.

Since 1948 at least 420 Palestinian villages have vanished. The photo journalist Ryuichi Hirokawa has filmed over 1,000 hours of footage and has taken thousands of photographs of the Palestinian people and their vanished villages. This film is a distillation of this footage.

The Conservatives are NOT good with our money.

» Exposing the “Conservatives are good for the economy” as a falsehood. Scott’s DiaTribes: My personal opinions on social and political issues from a progressive standpoint.
Stephen Harper turned a $12 billion dollar surplus into a deficit in the BEST of times. And now that things are going sideways and he’s telling us that, in these times of ‘uncertainty’, that he’s the best man for the job? And we’re believing him!?

Apple wants to put DRM in your clothes

New Scientist Technology Blog: Apple's latest DRM will restrict your wardrobe

They seem to consider this beyond the pale. The patent details a way of
"pairing a sensor and an authorised garment", such as "running shoes,
shirts or slacks". Companies like Nike could authorise their garments
by burying an RFID chip inside it. That chip is required to activate
the sensor. No longer will you be able to use the sensor you paid for
with any shoe of your choosing.

Apple's idea sounds mean-minded to me. What do you think?

The company has previous form, though. Last year they tried to patent a system that would prevent you from recharging a music player if you ever use it with unauthorised software.

They now are working on a new record. According
to Liz Green (vocals and lyrics), the new stuff is sounding rather
different from the old stuff and is being aired at live gigs to test
out. The band is currently also working on another DM cover, "In your
room", after their "Free" rendition. Swarf will also be appearing on
the soundtrack to the film "Vampire Diaries".

Conservative Leader Cannot Be Trusted

TheStar.com | Federal Election | Newfoundland premier says: 'Anyone but Harper'
He said Harper wanted an election before he would lose four by-elections that were in progress, before the economy "declines any further due to his fiscal mismanagement, and before findings released on various ethical breaches against his government."

"If Stephen Harper gets a majority government I remind you of words of Bachman Turner Overdrive: You ain't seen nothin' yet."

Williams said Harper has kept "his agenda carefully hidden," and urged people to read Harper's writings over the past 10 years.

"The only reason we haven't seen his full plan for Canada implemented is because he's had a minority government to keep it in check. A majority government for Stephen Harper would be one of the most negative political events in Canadian history."

Remember what Mike Harris did when he got in? A lot of people seemed surprised by his hidden right wing agenda that threw a lot of people out of jobs and really screwed up Ontario. The exact same thing is happening here with the federal Conservative government. Don't vote them back in or Canada will go right down the drain.

Dragon Naturally Speaking version 10

Dragon is Newton's antithesis - The INQUIRER

The pain with products like Dragon is that it normally takes ages to train
the system to recognise your voice. Simon Howard proved that this is no longer
the case with Naturallyspeaking v 10 by setting up a completely new profile and
taking not much longer than a couple of minutes to 'train' the product.

Thank You For Killing Canadians, Mr Harper

Just Another Willy Loman: Deregulated finger pointing at Maple Leaf

Of course prior to the changes that Harper’s government made to food
inspection, we would actually know if the cleaning was actually done
everyday.

Now under Harper’s deregulation the CFIA food
inspectors just read reports and review processes and don’t actually
get to verify, as in testing for listeria on the cutting blades right
on the floor.
