Block religious content while browsing the Internet
GodBlock - Protect your children
GodBlock is a web filter that blocks religious content. It is targeted
at parents and schools who wish to protect their kids from the often
violent, sexual, and psychologically harmful material in many holy
texts, and from being indoctrinated into any religion before they are of
the age to make such decisions.
When installed properly, GodBlock will test each page that your child
visits before it is loaded, looking for passages from holy texts, names
of religious figures, and other signs of religious propaganda. If none
are found, then your child is allowed to browse freely.

Atheists vs religion on morality
DTK: Those Awful New Atheists
... The difference between the bold claims of atheists and the bold claims of christians is that the atheists can actually back theirs up. The christians have a book that advises wholesale slaughter of enemies and their children and the willingness to sacrifice one's own son to please one's deity.
Atheists can actually point to a thing called "humanism" for guidance in moral matters. ...

Atheist bus ads in Ottawa - Update
Dawg's Blawg: Atheist ads: fear and loathing at OC Transpo [updated]
Ottawa has joined two other cities--Victoria and Halifax--in an Axis of Benightedness.* The decision has been made: no atheist ads on our buses.
...
UPDATE: (February 18) The Ottawa City Council Transit Committee has met. By a vote of 3 to 3, and for want of a majority, Councillor Alex Cullen's motion to permit atheist advertising on buses was defeated. On the side of the angels--so to speak--were Councillors Cullen, George Bedard and Jacques Legendre. The knuckle-draggers who prevailed were Rainer Bloess, Doug Thompson and Marianne Wilkinson.
The matter is going to the full City Council on March 11.For God's sake Please write to the Ottawa City Councillors and the Mayor, and remind them about the benefits of public debate in a democracy, the problem with OC Transpo's blatant double standards, what century we're living in, etc.

My Atheism is not a rejection of your god
Uniform Velocity: My Atheism Is Not A Rejection Of Your God
it is impossible to hate what one views as non-existent, but I do take issue with the actions carried out in the name of religion and the anthropomorphic attributes placed upon a supposed 'higher being".

Richard Dawkins call to all Atheists
Calling All Atheists « Red Tory v.3.0
Scientists and intellectuals hold very different beliefs about God from
the American public, he says, yet they are cowed by the overall
political environment. Dawkins’ scornful tone drew strongly mixed
reactions from the audience; some stood and applauded his courage.
Others wondered whether his strident approach could do more harm than
good. Dawkins went on to publish The God Delusion and become perhaps the world’s best-known atheist.

Atheist campaign on London buses
Atheist buses ready to roll across country after making £31,000 in a day - Telegraph
Now there are plans to get the message – "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life" – put on buses across Britain as well as on Tube trains in the capital.
The campaign was launched after Ariane Sherine, a comedy writer, called for a "reassuring counter-advert" to religious posters on public transport that atheists believe "threaten passengers with eternal damnation".

101 Atheist Quotes
Irish i's: 101 Atheist quotes
I saw this on Digg, but Atheist Blogger's site was down, then I saw a re-post on Irish I's blog. Thanks to both for posting this list.
Some of my faves from the list:
7. Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful. - Seneca the Younger
10. If I were not an atheist, I would believe in a God who would choose to save people on the basis of the totality of their lives and not the pattern of their words. I think he would prefer an honest and righteous atheist to a TV preacher whose every word is God, God, God, and whose every deed is foul, foul, foul. - Isaac Asimov
12. With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion. - Steven Weinberg
18. Two hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer. - Anonymous
22. It is not as in the Bible, that God created man in his own image. But, on the contrary, man created God in his own image. - Ludwig Feuerbach
31. I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours. - Stephen Roberts
35. Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day; teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime; give a man religion and he will die praying for a fish. - Anonymous
57. History teaches us that no other cause has brought more death than the word of god. - Giulian Buzila
58. Atheism is a non-prophet organization. - George Carlin
62. People will then often say, ‘But surely it’s better to remain an Agnostic just in case?’ This, to me, suggests such a level of silliness and muddle that I usually edge out of the conversation rather than get sucked into it. (If it turns out that I’ve been wrong all along, and there is in fact a god, and if it further turned out that this kind of legalistic, cross-your-fingers-behind-your-back, Clintonian hair-splitting impressed him, then I think I would choose not to worship him anyway.) - Douglas Adams
73. Believing there is no God gives me more room for belief in family, people, love, truth, beauty, sex, Jell-o, and all the other things I can prove and that make this life the best life I will ever have. - Penn Jillette
77. When one person suffers from a delusion, it is called insanity. When many people suffer from a delusion, it is called religion. - Robert Pirsig
89. Atheists will celebrate life, while you’re in church celebrating death. - Anonymous
